Barcelona is a vibrant, colorful city, well-known for its shopping opportunities. Spain is the country where many fashion brands were born, yet there are so much more shopping alternatives in the city of Barcelona, and shops that don’t carry the same products that are already available all around Europe. Let’s have a look at our favorite spots!

1. Losaida bcn

We found this shop by chance and we were hooked on it! The vintage decor is truly inspiring and makes you feel like you’ve entered a different time. From vintage clothing to more expensive vintage decor pieces, this stunning shop is a veritable retro experience.

The prices are not the cheapest, but if you’re willing to invest in a high-quality piece of clothing, with a unique design or print, this is the perfect choice for you! Just to give you an idea, a man’s shirt is about 60 euros (68$).

Our favorite pieces in this shop: men’s wear. If you’re looking for a gift for your boyfriend, husband, dad, etc., this is the place to find something special.

Store Address: Carrer dels Flassaders, 42, 08003 Barcelona, Spain. Closest metro stop: Jaume I (L4) or Barceloneta (L4).

We are so happy to have discovered this shop! The concept behind it is amazing. Every single item in this shop is made responsibly, by artists, craftsmen or communities that are trying to raise funds for a special cause.

Each category of products has a tag, offering you insights about how they’re made, the story behind and, if the case, if buying this product means you’re offering your contribution to a certain cause. As far as we’re concerned, we also had a pleasant experience talking to the people who worked in the shop. They were so kind, and briefly presented us some of their favorite products and the story behind them.

All in all, we totally recommend you check out this shop. It’s in the Gothic Quarter, within easy reach from La Rambla boulevard, it’s a pity not to include it on your list of shopping spots. Home on earth is our favorite feature in our Guide to Sustainable Shopping in Barcelona.

3. Orígens craft & design (local product)

Orígens shop and the adorable dog inviting you inside

This shop was right across the street from our Airbnb in Barcelona, and each time we passed it, the most adorable dog was soaking up the sun, guarding the entrance to this lovely boutique. To be honest, the dog was the main reason we decided to go inside.

Unfortunately, we seem to have lost the lovely photos we had from inside the store, but we’ll insert some of our favorite items from their website, just to give you an idea of the style and prices. This shop is a bit more expensive than the others, but the pieces are such good quality, the materials used are really good and everything is made in Spain.

Our guide to sustainable shopping in Barcelona wouldn’t be complete without some vintage shops. Consequently, we introduce Flamingos Club, a vintage store where you’ll find the most colorful vintage jackets, old-school and fancy dresses, Vans and Converse shoes, and other sick accessories.

Our favorite items from this shop: jackets. They have a great selection of amazing vintage jackets, and if you love the 70s style and look, if you’re in love with Stranger Things and that kind of aesthetic, this is a store you can’t miss!

5. The Gothic Market

The last stop of our guide to sustainable shopping in Barcelona is an open-air market. The Gothic Market (or Mercat Gòtic) is conveniently placed in front of one of Barcelona’s main attractions: Barcelona Cathedral. Consequently, you can check two places off your list, by heading over to this lively spot in the heart of the Gothic Quarter.
